below is also the code of conduct to adhere to. at the boland t20 we pride ourself to act and be professional and adhere to sponsorship and respect for the game of cricket, players and umpires

This code of conduct applies to all matches played in the BT20 tournament. It also applies to all training and practice sessions organised by the BT20.

All Players, coaches, managers, owners, parents and spectators are expected to comply with the South African and Boland Cricket Board code of conduct and that, by taking part in activities organised by the Boland T20, you agree to comply with all reasonable instructions from team managers and/or captains and/or coaches:

  • To respect, cooperate with, and always encourage fellow team members.
  • Persecution, humiliation or ridiculing of others will not be tolerated.
  • Behaviour and dress both on and off the field should be in keeping with the policies of BT20.
  • Foul, abusive, and inappropriate language on or off the field of play is unacceptable.
  • Intimidation, aggressive behaviour and deliberate distraction of opponents by words or actions are unacceptable.
  • Dissent at umpiring decisions is unacceptable.
  • The game should be played competitively, but the highest standards of sportsmanship must always be maintained. Recognise the achievements of both your team-mates and your opponents.
  • Remember that your conduct is a reflection not only on yourself but also on the BT20 and Boland. Conduct which damages the reputation of the BT20 will not be tolerated.
  • Players must wear suitable kit – (this must include a helmet, box, gloves, and pads when a hard ball is being used).
  • Players are not allowed to consume or purchase alcohol or drugs of any kind whilst participating in BT20.
  • Players are not allowed to smoke whilst participating in BT20.
  • Parents must refrain from engaging directly with the coach, players or umpires especially during a game. They are there to assist the players and focus on the game plan and game at hand.
